Daris Meeks

Daris Meeks advises clients on complex issues impacting numerous industries. Daris is recognized for his knowledge of policy and thorough understanding of the lawmaking and regulatory processes. He served in the White House as deputy assistant to the president and director of domestic policy for Vice President Mike Pence. In that capacity, he was the vice president’s top domestic policy advisor, managed the vice president’s domestic policy team, and helped to coordinate the president policy agenda across the federal government. Daris also worked to revive the president’s National Space Council and managed its staff.

 

In Congress, Daris served as policy director and counsel to Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) during his tenure as chairman of the House Republican Conference and vice chairman of the House Financial Services Committee. He also served as policy director and counsel to Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) during his tenure as chairman of the House Republican Conference and prior to his election as governor of Indiana.

 

Daris has significant experience with housing finance policy, having served as counsel to the chairman of the Federal Housing Finance Board. In addition, he began his government service as committee counsel on the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, where he assisted the committee’s ranking member, Senator Phil Gramm (R-TX).
